We have kind of a weird first day/week when we have a kindergartner. She goes (with mom) on the first day for a mini-orientation. The teacher gives her schpeel about procedures, rules, expectations, etc and meets the kids and lets them sit at their tables while she explains all this to the parents. This lasts about 20 minutes, 30 at most. Then we all go home. Before we leave tho, we sign up for a testing time to bring our child in later that week for individual testing with the teacher. This will also last for 15-20 minutes. The kids don't come back for the rest of the week, except for that 15-20 minute time slot for testing. It's just the one child and the teacher, and it's done before you know it. And we go home again. SO, we did this. Brea was a little bugged that she didn't go every day, and that it wasn't for very long, and that during her testing time the other kids weren't there. So, we count this week as her first. I have 2 really cute pictures of her from this week.
This was from the ACTUAL first day...the one we only spent 20 min. there.
These two were taken with my cell phone this week, as we were walking out the door. That's the reason why the purple one is a little crazy. Sorry 'bout that. I just thought she looked so cute and grown up.
Vance, on the other hand, started last week right off the bat, and has loved every minute so far. He is such a great kid to be so excited for school and just enjoys being there. He has lots of friends from previous years that are in his class this year, so that's fun. As well as a neighbor girl, who adores him. They get along so well.

With his mouth full of pumpkin chocolate chip muffin.
I'm not sure if he was giving the peace sign, or if he was doing two fingers for 2nd grade. Either way, I guess it works.
Here's to a fabulous 2011-2012 school year!
